Course Aims

To promote a good understanding of the operating principles, techniques and setting procedures, including primary and secondary test methods for power system protection schemes. Provision of information and instruction in the safe operating procedures for electrical protection schemes, interpretation of protection fault indications and appropriate corrective actions, along with maintenance of HV and LV protection relays, are addressed.

  • Measurement
  • Earth fault and earth leakage protection
  • Differential protection
  • Generation protection
  • Transformer protection
  • Motor protection.

 

Delivery

Classroom and practical work with a range of protective equipment.

 

Certification

City & Guilds 9841 Certificate.

 

Minimum Instructor Qualification/Experience

  • 5 years experience in electrical plant operations
  • Qualified to Authorised Electrical Person status
  • Presentation skills
  • A1 Workplace Assessor.

 

Min/Max Number of Delegates Required per Event

4/8.
