Queen's Anniversary Prize

Aberdeen College was presented with one of the Queen's Anniversary Prizes for Higher and Further Education at a high profile ceremony held on Friday 19 February 2010. The College's successful entry was entitled "Delivering skills in the oil and gas industry and supporting community cohesion".

Scottish Offshore Achievement Awards (SOAA 2009)

The Scottish Offshore Achievement Awards awards, which are known in the industry as the 'Oil Oscars', celebrate the success of leading players in the oil and gas industry and this year's ceremony was held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre. ASET was delighted to be awarded the 'Internationalisation of Scottish Skills' statuette. A subsidiary company of Aberdeen College, ASET delivers technical education and training for the Oil and Gas Industry worldwide, with particular emphasis on skills development.

For its award, which was sponsored by the Scottish Qualifications Authority, ASET received �5,000 worth of bespoke support, as well as a statuette created by renowned Scottish sculptor Gordon Lochhead of Silversculpture.

Over the last year ASET has trained and assessed over 8,000 Oil & Gas delegates at its Aberdeen Operations Training Centre, and in various international locations.

SQA Star Awards

The SQA "STAR" Awards have been created specifically to honour the achievements of Scottish education and training providers. ASET was delighted to be presented with the accolade of SQA International Centre of the year. Presented by Kaye Adams, and held in the Radisson Hotel in Glasgow on the 21st of November 2008, the STAR awards rewarded Scottish training for Success, Triumph, Achievements and Recognition.

In addition, ASET was Highly Commended in the same category in 2009.
